[snip] I just spoke to my father(Charles Philip Winder). Carrie Byrd Winder is his paternal grandmother. She was married to George Edgar Winder (your info has him with middle initial "B" I believe). Carrie was born 11-6-1884 and died on 6-3-1966. George Edgar was in the Spanish Americn war according to my father,bur he's not sure what his rank was or what part of the military. That's why he was buried in the Baltimore National Cemetary, and Carrie was buried directly on top of him per my father. George Edgar was born in Keller Virginia, and Carrie was born in Baltimore. George Edgar was called "Big Daddy" by my father! Carrie and George Edgar had 2 offspring,both born in Baltimore. The first is my grandfather George Philip (one L in Philip)Winder born 11-6-1905(born on his mother's birthday), and died 4-26-2000.The other offspring is my great Aunt-Mary Carolyn Winder, and we can't remember her date of birth or date of death. George philip Winder married my grandmother Barbara Elizabeth born 11-10-1906 and died 2-21-1987--they had one child who is my father Charles Philip Winder born 1-1-1929(he was the first baby born in Baltimore in the year 1929!) My mother is Nancy Belle Winder born12-1-1930 in Baltimore also. My parents have 4 children; James Philip, Robert Charles, David Ross(goes by Ross), and I am the youngest, Nancy Catherine. My brother Bob I think is cited in one of your bibliographies on stray Winders. He has done lots of research on our family tree. I will get you his e-mail address if you want. My father said Bob has traced the Winders in our family back to the 17th century. So-maybe this is not the kind of info you want or need, but I hope we can keep in touch-Any chance we are distantly related?? [snip] Nancy C. Winder
