I found the same Samuel H. Winder in familysearch.org. My mother said she didn't think it was him. This is why I contacted you because that was the only Samuel H. Winder that I could find on line. The little that I know is below:
Grandfather: Floyd Samuel Winder 1925-1992. He had a sister Gene Winder (dates ? she was younger)
Great Grandfather: Samuel H. Winder died December 17, 1936 in OKC (mom said he was from Tahlequah)
Married to Florence Winder (maiden name Underwood) 1904-1991 The Bertha and Susie Winder I think are Sam's kids. And I think that Calvin was Bertha's son. Boy this gets confusing!!!! One major reason I am researching this side of the family is that
1.) It bothered me that when I was filling out my sons family tree in his baby book I did not even know what my great grandparents names were.
2.) There is a full blooded Cherokee Indian (princess they say) that never signed the rolls and there fore I have never received benefits. I would like to see if I can track it so my son can get on the rolls. He is only 3 now but I would sure like to help get some of his college paid for.
3.) I am interested to know who I come from. It is very interesting!!!!
Anyway I think the Indian is my great grandfathers mother or possibly one more generation back. My mom thinks the Indians married name was Wilcox. She married a full blooded German who was a Butcher in a small town. He would not let her sign the rolls as that would have made him loose business.
Thank you for your time and anything you can find. Tuesdye Fletcher
