  	JOSEPH C. WINDER Retired Herd Appraiser Private funeral services were held this morning for Joseph C. Winder, 82, of 49 Hilltop Road, Yardley, who died Friday [27 July 1973] in the Buckingham Valley Nursing Home, Pineville, Pa. Born in Salem, Ohio, Mr. Winder was a resident of Bucks County for many years and was a retired herd appraiser for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Fallsington Friends Meeting, Fallsington Township Fire Co. No. 1, the board of directors of the Fallsington Library, the Bucks County Fire Police and the Edgewood Granger No. 688. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Peddicord Winder; three daughters, Mrs. Helen W. Satterthwaite of Doylestown, Mrs. (name and location not clear: ?Mary Ferguson of Doylesville?), and Mrs Edna R. Cates of E. Vasselboro, Me.; four sons, John R. of Tamora, Ill., James J. of Washington, William L. of Yardley and David R. of Morrisville; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Ida Glover and Mrs Alice Glover, both of Washington, Mrs. Dorothy Glover of Wisconsin, Mrs. Esther Tomlinson of Blackstone, Va., Mrs. Amy Brown of Dinwiddie, Va., and Mrs. Anna Glick of Woodside; 24 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Charles F. Swartz Funeral Home, Washington and Lincoln Avenues, Newtown. Memorial services will be held at a time and place to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fallsington Township Fire Co. No. 1 or the Fallsington Library.
