Retaining his [inherited] portion of Winder's Manor (on the south side of Wicomico River...) he removed to Rewastico, [a plantation known as] "Bower Hill" where he had purchased mills and an extensive tract of land... From DAR Lineage books: William Winder (1714-92), appointed by the Continental Congress, 1779, member of a committee for enlarging the powers of the Government and Council.
