I have been working on the winders since 1960's. From a bible, Salome Winder was born May 1, 1810 in Fayette Co. PA., married March 9, 1826 to Horace Belknap in Harrison Co. Ohio. Horace and Salome and her brother David Winder and wife Anna were already in Louisa County IA. when her parents moved to IA. in 1849. I was told by Howard Winder that Samuel had only a quarter when he arrived and had to stay with his children for a while. David came to IA on 1848. Horace and Salome sold their property to Nelson Driggs in Harrison Co. Ohio on Feb 21, 1846, so I think they came to IA in 1846. ...
