According to Robert L. Winder (Sep 2000):

Winder who served in Company G of the 39th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Joseph K.'s mother, Polly Winder, filed application #313955 for a pension based on dependency on 20 March 1889 from Kansas, and received a pension under certificate #386754. Examination of the pension file gives proof this Joseph K. Winder was a member of this family.
