  John Winder, age 59, white, Goshen, Union Twp, Elkhart Co, IN pg 422 line 1A, merchant, real prop $4000, pers prop $200 According to Robert L. Winder (Sep 2000): John Winder, son of James, was disowned by the Fairfield Monthly Meeting, near Leesburg, Ohio on 24 December 1821 for marrying contrary to discipline. Again, the IGI of April 1988 shows the marriage of a John Winder to Mary Ann Crozier on 24 March 1821 in Ross County, Ohio. The same source lists four children born to John and Mary Ann, all born in Ross County, Ohio: Mary Winder, born 6 April 1822; Eliza Winder, born 23 Dec 1824; Martha Winder, born 6 December 1827, and Amy Winder, born 27 June 1832. Amy Winder married William Henry Lightfoot in Goshen, Indiana on 4 September 1866. Based on information from Nancy Hokanson of Battle Ground, Washington. by 1874 they had moved to Sangamon County, Illinois, where their daughter Lulu Ailene Lightfoot was born on 24 May 1874. The 1874 Elkhart County Atlas lists only the last three of these children, so Mary, born in 1822, may have died young. John was a merchant in Goshen, Indiana, according to the Elkhart County Atlas, and is so listed in the 1850 census for Goshen. Mary Ann Crozier Winder died 13 Aug 1852 in Goshen, Indiana. John Winder married a second time with Martha Dewey, who died in Lafayette 4 August 1867. Two daughters were born to this second marriage - Mary, born 29 March 1855, who married Ezra H. Sager on 13 Jan 1873; and Florence May, born 31 October 1858. In household in 1850 census: Eliza Miller, 21, b. OH and Jane Cole, 8, b. IN [1]
