  According to Robert L. Winder (Aug 2000): William Clark Winder, Jr., born 14 December 1888 in Mt. Victory, Ohio, and died 14 July 1970 in Hocking County, Ohio. He grew up in Mt. Victory, Ohio and graduated from high school there. At about the age of 13 he went to work in his father's barbershop and worked there while in high school. After his graduation from high school, William went for one year to Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. After that he taught school one year in Hardin County, then decided that he would become a barber rather than teach school. He left his father's barbershop and went to work in Larue, Ohio. William married Mary Frances Cain in Marion County, Ohio.
