Ann, I'm just curious to know if you have any idea how this child got "John Davison Smith" as his Christian names? My great-great-grandfather was a John Davison Smith and in the East India Shipping Co before living in India for a few years. He then brought his family to Australia around 1850. He was the son of a Church of England Minister Rev Digby Smith of Worcester, England. Regards, Terry.
