Hello Ann,
I just got started on this line. Mary J. Winders(Wendell) son Adam Snyder wrote down the dates and ages of all his brothers and sisters names and gave them to my dad. Most of my family down the generation couldn't read or write. Adam just told my dad that his mother was Mary J. Wendell and father was Isaiah Snyder. both born in PA. All of Isaiah's and Mary's children were born in PA. My father had hired researchers to try and locate these family's but no luck. Isaiah and Mary J. Snyder were living in Briar Creek Twp., Columbia Co, PA in 1900. Listed all of the children except my Grandmother Myrtle and Clarence Snyder. They were born later. I have went through the 1900 census for Columbia Co., PA. microfilm. The page that Isaiah and Mary are on is faded. So I ordered the 1880 census for Columbia Co,PA. There they were on the second film of Pine Township, Columbia Co,PA. I have ordered the 1870 which will be in next week. But, if they were in Bucks Co. then I will probably not find my Snyder line either. Do you have access to the 1870 census? My father and has came to a dead end years ago with his grandparents. I was very pleased to find this clue last week. Any help would be appreciated. If I find out anything more I will let you know, for there is 66 counties in PA. It sure would get expensive going through every one. I have no clue also who the parents are to Isaiah or his brothers and sisters were. The 1870 Index does show a 18 year old Isaac in Bucks Co. Could be misspelled. The 1880 census shows Isaiah being 22 years old. Mary J. Winders being 16. I know there has to be a marriage on them. Shows them being married within the census year.
Sincerely,
Sarah
