  From: "Linda Winder" Sent: Saturday, March 09, 2002 8:58 PM My husband is John Winder, a descendant of Christopher Winder. Your site says he came from Switzerland in 1787, which may be true since I have had a hard time finding out any thing different. The problem is the more recent information on Robert Sanford Winder, born in 1854 in Panola County, Texas. His son, Robert Preston, is my husband's father. His widow, Jewel Hawthorne, is still alive and has given me a lot of information on this side of the family. She said Robert Preston is the son of Robert Sanford and Emma Nancy Jones. Your website has his as the son of Robert Preston and Louisa Boatright. I did not know the name of the first wife but was told she died young. The web says she died in 1935.
