Robert Winder was born February 15, 1840, and died March 9th, 1917, age 77 years and 23 days. He was a Kentuckian by birth but moved to Missouri when a young man and was married to Margaret Jennings in 1866 in Montgomery county Missouri. To this union were born five children, three passed over the river many years ago. He enlislted in the service of his country in March 1865 and was honorably discharged in July that same year. There are to mourn his loss, his aged wife, two sons, William of Naponee, Nebraska, and Owen, of Agra, nine grand children and three great grand children. In early manhood he united with the Methodist church and died in the triumph of a living faith. Funeral services from the home in Agra conducted by his pastor, Rev., G. Johnson.
