      Hi Ann,
I have a "stray" Winder myself. Her name is Sarah WINDER, she was born around 1880. Her parents (from her death cert.) were Henry S. Winder and Dorthea Andersen. She was reportedly born in Trout Run, PA which is in Lycoming County. She died tragically in 1908 in a mental hospital in New York. I have been able to find only that on her. The only other thing is she married Daniel G. Roosa and had 4 children, one of whom being my husband's grandfather. Daniel's next wife, for some reason, decided that the children needed to forget their mother and destroyed 99% of all the photos and records of her. I need help! Does she fit into any of your lines? Please let me know.
      Thanks.
      Patty Gerhart

[I suggested her Henry S. could be Henry, son of Merrick Reeder Winder. That Henry married a Dorothy and had a daughter Sarah of about the right age.]

      Hi Anne,
Thank you for the information! I have a question- why does everyone have poor Sarah listed as being born in 1878? She was born in 1880. This date is on her grave, and the 1880 census shows her as 4 mons old in 1880. I do see where we fit in, but I have problems with some of the dates (other than Sarah's!), they just don't fit with what I have found.

The reason I call her "poor" Sarah is that she died alone in a mental hospital in NY. I have felt so sorry for this poor woman. I wish I could find a photo to see what she looked like. Her husband remarried and the 2nd wife destroyed all the photos that she could find.
Maybe together we can get some of these dates straightened out.

      Thanks again for your help!
      Patty
