Notes - According to John H Winder:
«u»«b»Elizabeth Winders «/u»«/b» (1831-1903) was already in Ogle County by the 1850 census, when, at the age of 19, she was enumerated as a member of the household of Henry and Maria Artz. Two years later (8 March 1852), she married «u»«i»Nelson Tice «/u»«/i» in Ogle County who, presumably, died not too long afterwards, because in 1857, she married «u»John Henry Myers «/u» (b. Washington County, Maryland, 2 November 1835). John and Elizabeth (Winder Tice) Myers lived out their lives in Mount Morris, Illinois and had six children. [4] - (Research):From Deven Lewis, 2013: I believe it is George Winders and Jane Burns Winders' daughter, Elizabeth Winders, who was living in the Henry Artz household in the 1850 census in Pine Creek, Ogle County, Illinois, and that she is the Elizabeth Winders who married Nelson Tice in Ogle County on Mar 8 1852. This seems probable because (i) Hiram Winders, son of George Winders and Jane Burns Winders, married Harriet "Hattie" Tice, a sister of Nelson Tice, and (ii) in the 1860 census, Hattie and Hiram are living with Elizabeth and her second husband, John Myers. According to one «a href="http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ilogle/johnctice.htm"»history of John C. Tice«/a» (father of Nelson and Hattie), Nelson Tice died in 1851 on the way to California. Although the 1851 death year would be an error, since Nelson Tice married Elizabeth Winders in 1852, the circumstances of his death, probably shortly after the couple had married, may explain the a widowed Elizabeth Tice marrying John H. Myers on May 21, 1857 in Ogle County. Also, according to Illinois County marriage records for Ella Myers, George Myers, and Minnie Myers at familysearch.org, these children identified their parents as John H. Myers and Elizabeth "Winders". Elizabeth apparently went to Ogle County, IL from Washington Co., MD sometime between 1840 and 1850 - Jane Burns Winders was head of household in the 1840 census for Wash Co., MD, indicating that husband George Winders had died prior to 1840; in Jane's 1840 household were two young females, one 5-9 and one 10-14. One female child has been identified as Nancy Winders, born 1834, who would be the female age 5-9. I suspect the other female, age 10-14, was Elizabeth.
