[snip]Samuel Winder was the second husband of my third gr-grandmother, Ann Turner. Ann Turner's first husband was William Turner. He was her half uncle and when her father died, he made her brothers guardians of her inheritance so William couldn't get to it. I descend from their daughter, Virginia Turner. Virginia married Madison Harrison Stone in Warren County, KY. In the 1850 census, they are in Simpson County, KY, with Ann Winder living nearby. It lists the three children by Samuel Winder with initials for names. Her Turner children were not in the census and must have been grown. In 1851, Madison Harrison Stone bought property in Montgomtery County near Wellsville, I think. Ann Winder is listed in Montgomery and Audrain Counties in the census' after that--being in Montgomery County in the 1880 census. I know she owned a slave in 1860. One of the Turners was a slave trader. In 1880, she is listed as being at her son's house. That son is one of the Turner sons in Audrain County, I think. I have forgotten where she was in 1870, but I believe it was with a son.
