  Adam Heber Winder, past president of the California State Board of Education, died at his home in Riverside on October 12, 1940. He was born in Miamisburg, Ohio on May 2, 1882 and attended the public schools of Ohio. He was graduated from Cornell University in 1908 with degree of LL.B. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1908. Came to California in 1910 and was admitted at once to the California Bar. Mr. Winder opened his law office in 1918 under the firm name of Adair and Winder. He was Riverside counsel for the Metropolitan Water Commission. He became a member of the California Society, Sons of the Revolution in 1922 by right of descent from Peter Recher of Maryland.
