  According to John H Winder: «u»«b»Chalmers Winders «/u»«/b» was born in Tama County, Iowa on 17 July 1897, went to high school there and when he registered for the draft in World War I he was working at the First National Bank in Toledo (Iowa). He married «u»Mary K. Goodall «/u» (1895-1982) in Tama County on 3 November 1920 and got into the car business, managing an auto garage (1930 census) and managing a retail auto business (1940 census). He died in Los Angeles county, California (possibly while visiting his son) on 17 March 1969; Mary lived on in Belle Plaine, Iowa until her death in August of 1982. They are both buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. The couple had three children. [2]
