    • According to John H Winder:
      «u»«b»Gordon Robert Winders «/u»«/b» was born on 2 Feb 1924 in Plymouth County, Iowa, served as an aircraft mechanic aboard the USS Hornet during WW II, got an engineering degree from Iowa State University, worked for Babcock & Wilcox designing nuclear power stations, ended up in Raleigh, NC where he died on 28 Feb 2002. His wife still lives in Raleigh (as of 2013). They had three children. [1]
