- According to Deven Lewis (May 2013):
«b»Samuel Winders«/b» (born Aug. 7, 1802 in KY, died in Fayette Co., PA in 1855). Samuel was married to Margaret Burnside 04 Mar 1827 in Fayette Co., PA; they lived in Masontown (formerly known as Germantown). Children of Samuel and Margaret are believed to be Rebecca Jane, who married John Ross in Fayette Co., PA 10 Feb 1848, and Josiah M., who died in the Mexican-American War.

He [Robert L. Winder] is trying to help Bill Wallace. His first effort has been to pin down who he has records on --Earhart and Samuel. He mentioned a Samuel Winder who died in Fayette County, PA in 1855 who was born in Bullitt County KY in 1802. He was a school director in German Township (in PA, I think). Anyway, got me to wondering if this Samuel might be German.
