Johnson, says that Sarah Wynkoop, born 2 Feb 1826, married Logan DeWitt, and that they had a son, Cassius M. Clay DeWitt, who was born 31 Mar 1850. In checking the census records in Boone Co., IN for 1850, I found Sarah living with her parents, and Logan DeWitt living with his parents. In the household of William E. Hall, in Boone Co., IN is listed a lil boy, Cassius M. Wynkoop, born in Mar of 1850! I believe that the wife of William E. Hall was Susan Bridget Wynkoop - she is called Bridget by Johnson, and is listed as Susan B. in the census of 1850 William E. Hall is household #408/396 in Center Township, Boone Co., IN in the 1850 census. Could not find Logan DeWitt or Sarah DeWitt in any later census records! Sounds like a small mystery, at least! Wonder what happened?
