Aaron Riley (AR) Winder, Jr. 83 of Houston, Texas died May 15, 2007 in Houston, Texas. Funeral 17 May 2007 at Jersey Village Baptist Church, burial at Brookside Memorial Park. He was born Aug. 21, 1923 in Oklahoma to Aaron R. Winder, Sr. and Helen Siebold Winder. Served in World War II as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Unit, received 7 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal, in addition to Distinguished Unit badge with one oak leaf cluster. Graduated from North Texas Teachers College and began a career in education in Texas City in 1946. He retired from Arlington School District in 1982 and began a woodcraft business. His wife, Dorotjy McKay Winder, died in 2001. He is survived by two brothers, John A. Winder and Reuben Winder, both of Decatur, Texas, two daughters, Sue Ellen Perry (Rick) and Nancy Bromley (Craig) and a son, Allen Winder. |
